With Valentine’s Day around the corner, the Reverse Litter team decided to round up some of our favorite eco-friendly gifts your cupid will love – whether that’s your significant other or a friend. Below are some perfect options for those who are environmentally conscious. We hope you feel encouraged to make your Valentine’s Day “green.”

Gifts for Him:

1. Cork Wallet
If you’ve been following our campaign for a while, you know we are huge fans of items that are repurposed. These cork wallets are a perfect gift for that special guy in your life. Cork is very durable, 100 percent vegan and waterproof. You can also find other brands on shopping sites, like Amazon.

2. Wooden Cufflinks
For the businessman in your life, consider gifting wooden cufflinks for Valentine’s Day. Not only are they great statement pieces, but they’re also affordable and hand-crafted. Some companies even allow the shopper to engrave a monogram, making this a thoughtful gift.

3. Magnetic Bottle Opener
For those who like toast with a cold one, we found this neat bottle opener – literally! This item consists of a powerful magnet built into the bottom and can hold up to 30 bottle caps at once. This keeps the man cave, or your kitchen, bottle cap free on game day AND litter-free. The best part? It’s made from reclaimed bourbon barrel plank. Way to repurpose and help reduce trash. Who else thinks the designer should join our Litter-Free Lots program?

Gifts for Her:

1. Zero Waste Reusable Makeup Wipes
If your lady likes makeup but hates the thought of using disposable wipes, here’s your solution! These zero waste reusable makeup wipes are even customizable apart from being earth-friendly.

2. Bamboo Kitchen Equipment
For the chef and foodie, we recommend purchasing kitchen items that do not contain plastic and are made from recyclable materials. Bamboo replenishes itself quickly and biodegrades without major environmental impact. We found a great inexpensive bamboo cutting board. A plus of using bamboo cooking utensils is that they won’t scratch your pans that much, and we also found inexpensive sustainable cooking ware on Amazon.

3. Recycled Yoga Mat
For the yogi in your life, consider gifting a recycled yoga mat. These mats are made from recycled neoprene wetsuits. According to Uncommon Goods, “the cushioning, insulating material is recycled to create generously sized, premium quality mats that make great companions for your practice. Neoprene is a closed cell foam, so it won’t accumulate dust and bacteria from yoga studio floors. Production of these mats keeps wetsuit waste out of landfills, and the mat itself may be recycled when its yoga days are done.” If your cupid practices yoga, this one is a must.

If nothing is done to preserve space, the landfill in far southeast Fort Worth will run out of room in a little more than two decades, according to a recent report.
